Please read the following BEFORE registering for MC Canada’s Gathering 2019 at the link below.
These instructions will help your registration process go more smoothly. If you encounter difficulties, please contact Katie Doke Sawatzky, MC Canada’s communications officer, at email@example.com.
Our registration platform works better with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers. Internet Explorer can sometimes cause problems.
A detailed schedule, along with descriptions of workshops and excursion is available at www.ignitegathering2019.ca/schedule. We recommend reading through these before registering.
Sunday morning service – B.C. congregations are welcome!
If you are from a B.C. congregation and plan to only the attend the Sunday service, please register as an adult attendee and select the Sunday service option, for which there’s no registration cost. You can add your family members as guests to your registration. If you would like to stay for lunch after the service, you have the option to purchase a Sunday lunch-only meal.
A list of all the different fees can be viewed before you begin your registration. Click the Fees tab at the top of the opening registration page.
You will be asked to pay with your credit card to our PayPal account. You do not have to sign up for an account to use the PayPal system. You can use it as a “guest.” Please ignore the listed “offline payment” option.
How to register if you’re staying with multiple people
If you are bringing your family to Gathering 2019, please register under one person. For example, Susan Johnson, who has a family of four that will attend, will register as an adult delegate (or adult attendee, if she is not a delegate) and then add her husband John, and two kids, Katie and Tommy, as guests. There will be an opportunity to fill in the choices for sessions and meals for each guest as Susan fills out her registration.
If delegates/attendees/colleagues wish to share a room, each needs to register separately, and only one person books the hotel room. That person will write the names of the people he or she is staying with in the dropdown box that is mentioned in the next section of these guidelines.
Registration fees do not include meal costs.
The meal packages listed are optional. Executive rooms in the Best Western, which are available to you, have kitchenettes if you would like to make your own meals. Restaurants near Quality Inn include White Spot, A&W, Tim Hortons, Subway, Taco del Mar, Maru Sushi, and Clik Coffee Bistro.
Children 4** and under eat free. (**Updated. This mistakenly listed children 5 and under as free. Sorry for any confusion!)
Gluten-free meal options will be provided. There’s a comment box in the registration where you can list dietary needs.
Booking your hotel room
Accommodation is the last thing you register for. If you plan to stay in a hotel room, please select “Yes” to the question “Do you want to make a housing request?” There are two hotel options. The Quality Hotel and Conference Centre is where the Gathering is being held. The Best Western Inn is a 15-minute drive from Quality Hotel (a shuttle bus will be provided between the two) and includes a continental breakfast, a swimming pool, and several different room options. If you would like to book with Best Western, please register for the lunch/supper/snack meal package, since you will eat breakfast at Best Western. This is indicated in the description of the meal packages, so please read carefully.
If you plan to stay in a room with multiple people, select “Yes” to the question “Do you want to share accommodations?” A box will appear in which you list the names of whoever will share a room with you (family members, friends, colleagues, etc.).
When choosing the workshops you will attend on Saturday evening, be aware that there are two blocks to choose from. The first is from 7:15 to 8:00 p.m. followed by another block from 8:15 to 9:00 p.m. Be aware of the times listed and remember that you can choose one in each time block for a total of two.
T-shirts are available for adults for $20. The cost of children’s t-shirts is included in their registration fee.
Childcare and kids programming
Children ages 4 and under fall into the “toddler” registration category, so please choose that option when registering young children. We do not have registration for childcare options at this time, but childcare will be provided for children 4 and under during Gathering 2019. Those who register “toddlers” will be given more information regarding childcare in the coming weeks.

Please note that your table will be confirmed once your fee has been received. If you have additional requests, such as requesting a position next to another display, please include them in the comments box below. The tables and Gathering space will be available for your set up on Thursday, June 27, 2019, after 3:30 p.m.
Please submit the completed form by May 30, 2019. **If your request is approved, you will receive an email from Andrew Brown, confirming your spot and letting you know how to submit your payment. Cheques are payable to Mennonite Church Canada and can be mailed to:
